Lingerie experts believe that 80% of us are wearing the wrong size bra, with most of us wearing a back size that is too big and a cup size that is too small. Not only does this mean that we aren’t supporting our breasts in the right way, it also means that we aren’t showing off our figures to their best potential; wearing a correctly fitting bra can totally transform your figure, putting the curves back in the right places and changing your silhouette dramatically.
If you are already a Lady J Lingerie customer, then chances are that you have been measured before and so you’re probably pretty confident that you are wearing the right size. At Lady J Lingerie we appreciate it may be difficult to visit our shop every time you would like to purchase a new bra so, to assist you with your on line shopping we have put together a few simple guidelines to ensure you achieve the right fit.
- The centre front of the bra should sit flat against your body, if this part of the bra stands away from your body, it may be a sign that the cup is too small.
- Make sure the underwire of the bra encases all of your breast tissue, follows the natural crease of your breast and fits flat against the rib cage. It is common for ladies to have one breast larger than the other therefore always ensure the wire fits the larger breast and doesn’t dig into any of your breast tissue.
- Make sure the cup fits by checking that there is no bulging at the side or over the top, this is another indication that the cup is too small. If the cup is too big, gaping may be evident.
- Your band should fit snugly and be level all the way round, try lifting your arms up, if the band rides up at the back it is too big and will alter the level of support your bra provides.
- Fit a new bra on the slackest fastener, this way as the fabric “gives” you can tighten your bra up and it will last you longer.
- Check that your straps don’t dig in on your shoulder they should be parallel at the back or form a slight v shape. If your straps appear as an upside down v, your band may be too small.
We hope this helps you but if you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us and we’ll be happy to help.
